Are you a Water Walker?

"Lord, if it is you, bid me to come unto thee upon the waters..
and Peter went down from the boat and walked upon the waters to come to Jesus."

I was asked the other day how I was doing. I had to pause before I answered that question honestly, I had not thought about how I was doing. I was so focused on following Jesus that I had not paid much mind to the circumstances I was going through. I acknowledged them but I did not get distracted by them.  In life today we are faced with so many challenges. and many can knock us off our feet if we let them. I too have been there. But today is a new day. Even now as I write I am faced with many challenges. I solicit your prayers. But if I had stopped to observe the circumstances and let them discourage me I would succumb to defeat or sink and not see the victory..

I can recall when Jesus said “ Let’s go to the other side’. When we think about that,  of course we are willing to go, but what we don’t realize is that we will be challenged for our decision to follow Jesus. So when the storms come, we are surprised and we wonder why? But Jesus said,” in this life we shall have tribulation. But be of good cheer I have overcome the world.”  I find that as long as the vessel we are in is dry and safe we don’t have to have much faith as we ride smooth sailing forward. But what if you are asked to leave the comfort and security of that Boat and trust that you will not sink because Jesus ask you to do so? That is a faith on another level. That is water walking? With our eyes on Jesus we boldly go forth not paying any mind to the wind  and the waves of life. So to answer that question, I simply said, “I’m water walking, looking unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of my faith.”
