Parenting Tuesday Becoming a Parent of influence series.
They want to believe that the world is good and that they have a promising future even though the world shows them otherwise. They want to believe that the world is fair and if they do good they will have a good life. But they are seeing a different world. Without the knowledge of God how can they have hope?
Restoring Hope in a hopeless world!
It is our Job to show them “In God we trust”.
As Parents our goal is to teach our children to be law abiding citizens. But when we see the world persecute the innocent, not uphold that laws in fairness and those in leadership abuse their authority, how do we explain that to our children?
As Christian parents we must restore hope by helping our children hope in God by providing answers in His Word.
The bible tells us Prov.3:5 Trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not to our own understanding in all our ways acknowledge him and he shall direct our path.
God’s word and the knowledge of God will keep their heart and mind at peace and they will have hope.
Psm 46 says: “God is our refuge and strength a very present help in times of trouble”
Yes our children must believe there is fairness, justice and righteousness, but it comes from God not man. God will make things right. He is the righteous judge and He will repay (Ish 33:22)
He will right the wrongs and will raise up righteous leaders and prepare his people to rise up in battle.
We must encourage our children to have a proper response to be the people who pray and be used by God and people who choose to live in righteousness and expect the blessings of the Lord for doing so as He promised.
Psm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Show them and explain the examples before them the ways of the good and the ways of the unrighteous so they will know right from wrong and the consequences so they will learn to discern correctly.
We as parents we must protect our children from ungodly forces whether it be those in authority or the bully at school. We have to take a stand to put the proper leadership in place that will up hold godly principles so our world is a better place. It is our responsibility to know and pray for those we are putting in powers of authority.
Prov29:2 “When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice. But when the wicked rule the people mourn.”
Let’s be the parents who will influence our children for the Lord and raise up a righteous seed. In Jesus name! Amen.
